In the beginning of Barnaal’s process the paisley bandana is deconstructed and reassembled to represent an altered state. It's broken into 4 separate colors. Through the color choice there is a spiritual representation or hint that's being inclined. Through hierarchy and the  placement of bandana pieces a suggestion to a higher spiritual form is made based on Christian context. Barnaal’s work has a symmetrical nature being counter imposed by an abstract flow throughout. There's an abundance of stitching inside of the pattern and also around highlighting the organic nature of the back piece. Which is being contrasted with the set square piece that has broken or extended edges. When flipping the shirt over there is a  paisley pocket sewed in the accent color from the back. These both are  a subtle way to express again the purpose of this capsule which is to offer the idea to the viewer a euphoric state through the use of spiritual appropriation . Spirituality is not being shoved down the throat of the viewer either, it is more of a personal narrative for the viewer of the shirt based on the environment they view it in and their prior knowledge or life experiences. With this in mind there is an amount of prior knowledge being imposed by Barnaal as this will be viewed differently culturally. This is a part of the euphoric feeling that is trying to be provoked through a bombardment of visual information.  Ultimately provoking this state of excitement or happiness through sensory visuals.
Euphoria is defined as a feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness. These ideas with the addition of religion were used in a study conducted by Neuroradiologists at the University of Utah. The study monitored individuals neurologically during different forms of worship or religious practice and concluded; Religious and Spiritual experiences are neurologically similar to the Euphoria experienced during love and drug taking. The /ˈpāzlē / collection is leveraging the altered euphoric state through the re-assembling of  deconstructed paisley patterned bandanas.
